Luka Modric may have been crowned the world's best player, but John Terry is adamant that Eden Hazard is the standout individual both in the Premier League and the global game.

Hazard provided another reminder of his undoubted quality as he scored the winner in Chelsea's 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night with an excellent goal.

Demonstrating his excellent close control, Hazard weaved his way past a host of Liverpool players before finishing emphatically.

John Terry believes that Chelsea's Eden Hazard (above) is the standout player in world football

Terry was delighted with the goal scored by his former Chelsea team-mate and reacted to the strike on Instagram.

He wrote: bpo 'What a goal from @hazardeden_10 @chelseafc BEST player in the @premierleague and in the WORLD'.

Liverpool took the lead at Anfield through Daniel Sturridge, but Emerson Palmieri equalised before Hazard's strike settled matters.
