The description of the Strategic National Stockpile was changed on Friday to align with the way White House senior adviser Jared Kushner described it at a press briefing the day before. 

Amid states bidding against each other for medical supplies and officials begging the federal government for help in procuring much-needed items, Kushner said they should not look to the reserve for help 

'The notion of the federal stockpile was it's supposed to be our stockpile.

It's not supposed to be states stockpiles that they then use,' he said.
