The department offers undergraduate programs in Exercise & Health Promotion, Health & Physical Education (K-12), and Kinesiology & Health Sciences as well as graduate concentrations in Administration of Sport & Physical Activity and Sports Performance. We are proud of our programs and the way in which they are enhanced by student-professor relationships and personalized attention. The eastern medical practitioners have paved the way for us by literally mapping out electrical highways in the body. The faculty and teaching staff in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies (SKHS) are committed to creating an inclusive, positive, and high-quality teaching and learning environment. This exciting and innovative program at York University provides students the opportunity to pursue many sub-fields including physiology, anatomy, health, sport administration, health psychology, and athletic therapy in preparation for a career in health and rehabilitation, fitness, recreation, sports industries, research, or teaching. Courses in anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, musculoskeletal injuries, ergonomics, exercise prescription, lifestyle counselling, nutrition, psychology, sociology, motor control, and adapted physical activity. There is also another area in this field that is called as exercise physiology. There are also support groups for family members. Meaningful, focused, systemic, and sustained policies, practices, and programs are needed to dismantle the hierarchies that maintain inequity and unearned privilege. This degree is designed for those who wish to concentrate on the science of human movement and will prepare you to meet the requirements for Feet Toes post-graduate degree programs in a variety of allied health professions. Kinesiology and Health Science is the study of human movement and the relationship between physical activity and health. Prepare for leadership and instructional careers in a variety of physical activity and sport settings in both public and private agencies.


Graduates of kinesiology can be found in schools, universities, hospitals, military environments, hotels, recreation centers, sports clubs, aquatic facilities, health clinics, wellness centers, and other private and public agencies. This feedback can then guide us as to which modalities (nutrition, bodywork, emotional work, energy changes, or interactions) to use to regain health. Water proof quality has enabled the swimmers to use the tape regularly throughout their swimming activity. We offer natural health care services from a variety of practitioners. At Tarleton, our undergraduate students majoring in kinesiology learn by doing through a variety of service-learning projects and high-impact practices that are embedded in the curriculum. This degree program (program will be offered starting Fall 2014) is also designed to prepare students for a variety of careers including education, physical therapy, coaching, personal training and other allied health professions by providing classes oriented toward fitness, wellness and health promotion throughout the lifespan.


Kinesiology is a very safe, health enhancing therapy for everyone from infants to the elderly. This effect was discovered in the 1930s by Dr. Robert Lovett, who was trying to measure the amount of damage in patients suffering from spinal cord disease or injury, and was further refined by the chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart in the 1960s. Since then, several types of kinesiology therapy have been developed. We are all familiar with orthodox western style medicine, which tends to treat the symptoms of disease. Students in the kinesiology programs are involved in Group work and Experiential Learning opportunities beginning in first year. Course selections are tailored to various majors. N is the suffix at the end of a course number used to designate an Inter-Domain course and Z is the suffix at the end of a course number used to designate a Linked course. The Chinese systems of flow of electrical energy are called meridians. In Kinesiology, we make great use of the meridian flow pathways in the body.
