The actress, 59, stood out from the crowd as she got into costume donning a bright yellow long coat which she cinched in at the waist. 

The American star donned a knitted purple turtle neck jumper and wide legged blue jeans under the eye catching jacket. 

The GI Jane star beamed wearing a simple but glamorous palette of makeup and styled her dark tresses poker straight as they cascaded past her bust. 

Demi was seen waving on set before raising her hands in the air and looking rather serious as she got into her role. 

The beauty seemed focused as cameras closed in on her while her locks blew in the wind. 

Later in the day the star rocked a plain white top with the blue trousers as she kept cool while climbing into a car to leave the set. 

She carried her personal belongings in an bright red chic handbag as she was joined by her security. 

The Substance is an upcoming American body horror film written and directed by Coralie Fargeat and starring Demi and Netflix's Maid actress Margaret Qualley, 27.
