Polarizing Fox News host Tucker Carlson has compared Dr Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, to Italian fascist World War II dictator Benito Mussolini - just hours after his colleague Lara Logan likened the scientist to Auschwitz death camp doctor Josef Mengele.
During Monday's installment of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the presenter argued that the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has gone from being a sober public servant at the outset of the pandemic to a megalomaniac accountable to no one.
'After two years of being nonstop media adulation, Tony Fauci has morphed into an even shorter version of Benito Mussolini,' Carlson said.
The talk show host's claim as relating to the size of the two men fell a bit short.
