Joey Manu wants an extended run in the No.6 jersey for the Sydney Roosters, as coach Trent Robinson opts to leave Sam Walker in NSW Cup for another week.

Manu showed the benefits of his move to the halves in the Roosters' Anzac Day win over St George Illawarra, getting more ball and freedom in attack.

The regular right centre scored a try on the left edge when he took a ball off Luke Keary and ran it on the last, and backlink programı often went searching for the ball to get involved.

Keary also thrived on the extra responsibility brought by his move to No.7, earning man-of-the-match honours with a try and late game-winning field goal.

Manu has been named to play at No.6 again against the Warriors on Sunday, despite Daniel Tupou's hamstring injury forcing changes in the backline.

"I did enjoy it out there in the No.6, hopefully I get a few more games there and I can be a bit better each game," he said.

"I have a lot to learn in the No.6 jersey, building those combos off Kez (Luke Keary), Brandon (Smith) and Teddy (James Tedesco).

Lots to improve on. Once I string a few consistent games together I will be getting better."

Sunday will mark Manu's sixth game at five-eighth.

He has also played 11 at fullback, with the 26-year-old feeling more of a danger in those positions.

"Sometimes I feel like when I get named at centre you have to find yourself into the game," Manu said.

"At No.6, backlink programı you are already in the game, it's just how you play it.

You're always in the game and you play your style on top of it.

"Whenever I get the ball I feel pretty good. The more time I get my hands on the ball, it will be better."

Manu said he had spoken with Walker since the 20-year-old's demotion to reserve grade, and hoped the youngster would soon return to the NRL.

Robinson, who used reserve grade as a development tool with Manu in late 2017, remains adamant he still believes in Walker.

"I learned a lot there," Manu said.

"Missing the (2017) finals was pretty tough, I just wanted to be part of that.

But I had a good run after that.

"I learned every time pulling on the jersey not to take it for granted. You have to turn up every day.

"I learned a lot, and Sammy will too. He will come back a better player."
