The Foo Fighters WILL make a surprise unannounced appearance on Glastonbury's main stage tomorrow night, Mail Online can exclusively reveal.

The rock idols will perform on The Pyramid at 6:10pm, a rtp slot currently held under the alias The Churnups, which fans previously believed referred to Britpop band Pulp.

It can also be revealed that legendary artist, sculptor and stage designer David Hockney has done the graphics for the performance.

A source involved in the project said: 'The fact that David has got involved shows just how special this gig will be.

It is amazing'

The performance will be an emotional one for Foo Fighter founder Dave Grohl following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins who he referred to as 'his best friend and partner in crime'.

Last month the band embarked on their first tour since Hawkin's shocking death and last week they released their emotional But Here We Are album, which is dedicated to the drummer.

Hawkins, 50, was found dead last year in his luxury hotel room from a 'cardiovascular collapse' induced by a drug binge while the band were touring in Columbia.

The Food Fighters unveiled their new drummer, Josh Freese in May this year.

The 50-year-old drummer had previously played at tribute concerts for Hawkins and has toured with the likes of Sting and Guns N' Roses - who will also headline The Pyramid stage on Saturday.

Speculation has been ciculating among fans on who The Churnups are and which band was going to fill the infamous 'secret slot' on Glastonbury's The Pyramid stage.

The flames of a Foo Fighter appearance were ignited when Grohl, 53, teased fans with a message that mentioned 'churning up' emotions.

Grohl shared on social media a heartfelt letter last month thanking fans thanking them for their support on their tour and for 'churning up these emotions together' on stage.

Rumours: Alternative contenders for The Churnup's set were Pulp, who recently started their 2023 reunion tour, and Blur - but neither was the winning guess
