Daniel Craig has revealed his children won't inherit his vast fortune because he plans to 'get rid of it' before he dies.

The James Bond star, 53, who has a net worth of around £116 million ($160 million), said he believes inheriting money is 'distasteful' and he is hoping to 'give away' most of his millions.

Daniel, who has a daughter with his current wife Rachel Weisz and another with his ex Fiona Lourdon, also reflected on his departure from the role of 007 in the upcoming No Time To Die.

'I think it's distasteful': Daniel Craig has revealed his children won't inherit his vast fortune because he plans to 'get rid of it' before he dies

Speaking to , Daniel said: 'Isn't there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you've failed?

'I think Andrew Carnegie [an American industrialist] gave away what in today's money would be about 11billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I'll bet he kept some of it, too.

'But I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.'

Daniel welcomed his first child with wife Rachel in September 2018, and also has daughter Ella, 29, from his first marriage to Fiona.

The Knives Out star is set to bid farewell to his iconic role as James Bond when No Time To Die is finally released next month after being delayed multiple times due to the Covid pandemic.

There had been much speculation about whether the star was finished as 007 after 2015's Spectre but he told last month that there was one story thread from his first Bond film, 2006's Casino Royale, that coaxed him to return for one last time as the iconic secret agent.

'I thought I probably was physically not capable of doing another. For me, it was very cut and dried that I wasn't coming back,' Daniel said plainly.
