The simple trick to removing acrylics and SNS without damaging your nails has been revealed in a TikTok video - and it all comes down to extra virgin olive oil.
A set of acrylic nails - which are created by brushing a combination of liquid and powder onto your real nails before shaping and air-drying them - can last up to eight weeks, but ordinarily you need visit a salon every three weeks to 'fill in' the growth.
But with nearly 14 million Australians currently in lockdown without access to beauticians across NSW, VIC and South Australia, it's important to know how to remove them at home.
A clip uploaded to Melbourne beauty page, , shows viewers how to safely remove false nails with olive oil, acetone polish remover and a wooden stick.

In it, a nail technician claims the cooking product can be used instead of cuticle oil to 'loosen up the glue' that holds the acrylic to the natural nail.
After rubbing olive oil over the cuticles of the nails, she says your hands should be soaked in a shallow bowl of warm water mixed with acetone and a drop of olive oil for '10 to 15 minutes'.
The technician says you should then pat nails dry and gently push the false tips off with a cuticle stick, available for $3.59 (AUD) in leading pharmacies like Priceline.
'It does require a bit of pressure, but not enough that you're ripping off the nail,' she explained.

In the early days of Australia's first Covid lockdown in March 2020, a nail artist posted her 'foolproof' method for removing gel, 인터넷카지노 SNS and acrylics in Facebook community page 'The Makeup Social'.
To start with she said you must hand file the top clear coat of nail varnish off, then fill a metal or ceramic bowl with just enough acetone to cover your nails.
She said you should soak them in the mixture for at least 15 minutes, after which they should look 'gooey' and melted.
If they don't, the technician said you haven't taken enough of the top layer off.

Once the top layer has been removed, she said you should buff the nails 'as much as you can' until they become too hard to take off.
The soaking and buffing process should be repeated until there is no acrylic, gel or SNS lacquer left on the nail, although the beautician said it's important to buff slowly to reduce damage to your natural nail.
Once you're satisfied, she said you should moisturise your fingernails and nail beds as much as possible to prevent the alcohol from the mixture drying them out.
It is possible to apply your fake nails at home but it is a delicate process and requires a number of products - a lamp, chemical powders, nail primers and cuticle removers - so for the sake of your natural nails, this is not recommended for amateurs.
