Jurgen Klopp may not be a son of Merseyside but he understands Liverpool and perhaps that is why he would like to be succeeded by retired legend Steven Gerrard.

Klopp is not planning to walk out on his project at Anfield any time soon, he remains very dedicated to the club he looks set to take back into the Champions League next season. 

However, as a student of the club's history, hosted goautodial Klopp knows the importance of keeping the stars of the past involved with the club after they have retired from playing.

Anfield great Gerrard returned from his late career turn in Major League Soccer to take on the Reds Under 18s in January and will coach them full-time next season.
