The Oakland operations management assignment help Athletics brought back Khris Davis on Wednesday, signing the slugger to a minor league contract.

Davis, 33, was designated for operations management assignment help by the Texas Rangers in early June and subsequently released.

The A's assigned him to their affiliate in the Arizona Complex League.

Davis slugged 158 home runs for the A's from 2016-20, including an American League-leading 48 in 2018.

The A's traded Davis to the Rangers in February as part of the deal that sent Elvis Andrus to Oakland.

Davis was hitting .157 in 22 games for the Rangers when he was DFA'd.

Davis is batting .241 with 220 homers in 960 career games with the Milwaukee Brewers (2013-15), A's and Rangers.
