It's been more than three years since comic book icon Stan Lee passed away, but many like Ryan Reynolds are proving he's far from forgotten.

The 45-year-old actor took to his Instagram story on Tuesday afternoon to share a throwback snap from the set of one of the Deadpool movies.

Reynolds was in full costume as Lee was seen smiling up at the actor in the throwback snap.

The actor captioned the pic, 'HBD @TheRealStanLee.'

Reynolds had previously shared the photo upon Lee's death, revealing it was from his, 'first time meeting Stan Lee' on April 1, 2015.

While Lee's contributions to comic books have made him a legend, co-creating iconic characters like Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther and Daredevil, just to name a few, he's also known to modern audiences for his obligatory cameos in every recent Marvel movie.

Although Lee was not involved in the Deadpool comics - which were created by Rob Liefeld and Fabien Nicieza - he still made a memorable cameo in the 2016 Deadpool movie.

Lee was featured in a brief shot as the MC at a strip club, introducing a new dancer taking the stage named Chastity.

He also had a brief appearance in the 2018 sequel Deadpool 2, though only through a large artwork depicting his face on a building.
