William H. Macy gushed about his 'fairy tale marriage' with his longtime wife Felicity Huffman in a new interview.

The 68-year-old actor sat down with Willie Geist for an interview that will air on Sunday, but the show offered viewers a preview clip this morning.

In the interview, the Shameless star talked about how it was love at first sight with Huffman, 56 — something she herself has said in the past.

Talking: Geist asked him about a range of topics including his marriage

'Our marriage is sort of a fairy tale marriage, I have to say. I loved her the first second I saw her,' he said.

The pair met in the early '80s while working in a show together at New York City's Atlantic Theater Company, and show business has remained a steady part of their relationship.

'We talk about showbiz a lot, we give each other notes,' Macy, whom Huffman calls Bill, said. 'It's not something everyone should try.'

The actor admitted that his wife 'can be tough' with her feedback, but added: 'I can be tough too. 

'We met in the theater and that's really at the core of our relationship.'

Long time: They dated for 15 years before getting married in 1997. They've been married for 21 years

Business meets pleasure: Macy said that they talk about show buisness a lot, and they've also worked together (pictured on an October 1999 episode of Sports Night)

And a long relationship it's been. After the two first met at that theater company in the early '80s, they dated for 15 years before tying the knot. 

That wasn't for lack of trying on his part. Macy asked Huffman to marry him more than once, but she always said no.

'I was so scared of marriage that I thought I would've preferred to step in front of a bus,' she told in 2015.  

'I thought I'd disappear,' she added in another interview, according to . 'Men's stock when they get married goes up. Women's stock goes down.'

At one point, they broke up for nearly five years. When they got back together and he proposed again, she said yes.
