Netflix has revealed the new trailer for Army of Thieves, a new movie prequel that is set before the events of the zombie movie Army of the Dead.

The prequel moves the action across the pond to Europe, following a small-town bank teller named Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer), who is recruited by Gwendoline (Nathalie Emmanuel) to join a team of safe-crackers pulling off heists all around Europe.

Army of the Dead writer and director Zack Snyder serves as an executive producer on the prequel, with Snyder also revealing the official poster on Sunday.

The trailer begins with Gwendoline telling Ludwig that, 'we've been watching you and we want to recruit you.'

There is also a shot of the thieves driving in a large van, while Gwendoline asks Ludwig if he's, 'familiar with the outbreak in America.'

'The one turning people into flesh-eating monsters?
Yes, I heard something about it,' Ludwig plainly replies.

Gwendoline adds that, 'the world is distracted' adding this window of opportunity they have is their 'only chance' for 'a life less ordinary.'

The trailer features a number of action-packed shots featuring Ludwig working on the safe and the army of thieves' arsenal of guns.

Ludwig is seen opening a massive safe as his team rejoices around him while other shots show him driving a boat.

Gwendoline tells him 'this is about becoming legends as the trailer comes to an end with a number of quick cut shots.

The final shot features Gwendoline asking Ludwig and two other members of the team if they have any questions.

Ludwig responds, 'Yes.

Many. Hundreds,' though the others have no questions at all.

Zack Snyder also wrote the story for Army of Thieves, with Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) writing the full screenplay, with Matthias Schweighöfer directing.

The cast also includes Ruby O.
Fee, Stuart Martin, Guz Kahn and Jonathan Cohen.

Netflix hasn't announced a release date for Army of Thieves yet, with the streaming service also developing an anime series set in this same world.
