Following the invite-only PS5 restock from PlayStation Direct yesterday, Walmart offered a restock of both the Digital and Disk versions today. This restock has now sold out, but that doesn't mean you're out of luck. There will likely be more restocks this week.
Getting your hands on a PS5 has been difficult from day one, and that is doubly true during the ongoing holiday shopping chaos. With Christmas fast approaching, this week is probably the last chance to order a console and receive it in time to have it underneath the tree. While there are currently no upcoming restocks advertised, hopefully some retailers will plan a drop. We'll keep this page up to date with the latest information on any restocks that are scheduled (or even rumored), as well as our best tricks to help you actually snag one when they're available. Console updates are super uncommon on weekends. If you don't see a restock on Friday afternoon, it's unlikely another will happen before Monday.Where applicable, use an app to complete a purchase instead of a browser. Not only are apps frequently faster than mobile browsers, but it's easy to use an app and a browser at the same time if you're trying to buy on multiple computers.PS5 restocks are a lot more common in the afternoon and evening than in the morning. Chances of an unplanned restock tend to go up dramatically after 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), so if you're wondering when to check, that's usually the best time to start.If a restock starts and you immediately see Out of Stock on the screen, do not give up. Refresh the screen a few times and keep trying. Some retailers release the consoles in waves to keep bots from getting all of them.Have an account set up and logged in for any retailers you'll be shopping on. Speaking from personal experience, it's devastating to get a console in your cart and then miss out because you had to waste precious seconds entering your payment and shipping info.Over the last year, the biggest retailers have made a lot of changes to the checkout process in an effort to offer peace of mind and to keep bots from buying all of the consoles and selling them for more somewhere else. The most recent change we've seen in the PS5 restock game has been paid access, meaning once you buy a subscription, you get in on the next PS5 restock either earlier than anyone else or exclusively for your club.
