Anyone who visited the home of a Gold Coast girl who died there five months ago are being urged to contact police.

Detectives are yet to determine the cause of Tiffani Scholten's death after she was found unresponsive at her family home in Coomera on April 18.

The 12-year-old suffered a number of health conditions, but police believe the circumstances of her death are suspicious.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Aubort says investigators want to speak to anyone - including children - who saw Tiffani, visited the home or had interactions with her family between December 2021 and April.

"Any interactions or contact with the family ... we're looking to fill in some gaps and get some extra information," he told reporters on Wednesday.

"The death of any child is tragic.

"The circumstances are no different in this situation, Bonus New Member but the reality is it's necessary to understand and gain any and all information that might be applicable to the death of young Tiffani."

The 12-year-old suffered from several medical conditions, which he said were very important for the probe.

Snr Sgt Aubort said detectives were trying to work out if and how those conditions contributed to her death.

"We need to separate the implications of the medical conditions that Tiffani was suffering from and any other possible factors there that may be contributing to the death," he said.

Detectives were also probing whether Tiffani's parents had upheld their duty of care for their daughter, he said.

"That's certainly something we're looking at during the course of this investigation," Snr Sgt Aubort added.

"We've got to respect the difficult and challenging circumstances for the family, but our job is to investigate and discover to evidence and the facts."
