The New York Yankees have 'recently requested medical information' on free agent pitcher Jacob deGrom, as the 29-year-old could end up moving across the Big Apple after his release from the Met at the start of the offseason.
For now, though, the request is seen as standard procedure, with free agents being asked to provide their medical records before teams determine whether to pursue them, according to Other teams who've requested deGrom's medical information are the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves and the Mets. Along with Justin Verlander, who recently opted to test free agency after winning a World Series title with the Houston Astros, deGrom is one of the most sought out pitchers in the league.

During his time with the Mets, he was a four-time All Star and two-time Cy Young Award winner.
His injuries are a concern for interested parties, with the 34-year-old having only started 26 games over the past two seasons.
When healthy, however, he's been invaluable for the Mets, finishing last season with a 5-4 record with a 3.08 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 102 strikeouts in 62.1 innings.
In 2021, his stats were even better. His record was 7-2, with a 1.08 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, 146 strikeouts in 92 innings. Injuries to his shoulder, however, limited the number of appearances he could make, once again.

It has also been said that, although the Yankees need pitching reinforcements, the team's priority is to re-sign AL MVP Aaron Judge.
The Mets, meanwhile, are considering replacing deGrom with Verlander.
