'I always thought when I adopted a dog, or rescued a dog, it would be a little puppy,' he told the outlet.

The Knives Out actor continued: 'Dodger was a full-grown dog. It wasn't the story I had in my mind but it ended up being the best decision of my life. I just think a lot of adult dogs and older dogs get overlooked, and that's a shame.'
Over the years, Evans has made his love known for his canine known to the world by regularly posting him on his Instagram and even tattooing his name to his chest.
The Boston native originally adopted Dodger after filming a scene for his movie Gifted five years ago.
