BUDDIES MOVE FOR MARWOOD
St Mirren have signed 24-year-old striker James Marwood from Skrill Premier side Gateshead.
The former Newcastle youth player hit 15 goals last season as Gateshead missed out on promotion into the Football League in the play-off final.
Marwood played through the middle last season but was previously a winger and manager Tommy Craig believes he will offer "good pace and drive in forward areas".
Marwood told the club's official website: "When I first heard about the possible interest from St Mirren my heart was set on coming here.
"I came up a couple of weeks ago and met with Tommy Craig who showed me around the facilities. The enthusiasm and knowledge that Tommy has for the game convinced me that this was where I wanted to progress my career."
