Former Married At First Sight star Mishel Karen has finally revealed the real reason behind her decision to join OnlyFans.

The 51-year-old said she was suspended without pay from her job after refusing to comply with vaccine mandates.

On top of that, the mother of two claims she has been caring for an immediate family member who has been suffering from myocarditis after getting vaccinated.

'I was suspended late last year for not being vaccinated and then on my birthday they told me it would be without pay. I am appealing the decision but they seem to be headstrong,' she explained.

Mishel said she's now relying solely on her OnlyFans income to survive, adding that it has been 'extremely difficult' since her suspension.

She believes Covid vaccine mandates aren't reasonable after claiming a close family member had a suspected side effect, myocarditis.

She also hopes her relative will have access to compensation as part of the government's Vaccine Claims Scheme, which offers people with confirmed Covid-19 vaccine side effects access to between $1,000 and $19,999.

Pericarditis and myocarditis have been observed in an extremely small number of people after receiving mRNA vaccines, of which Pfizer is one. 

Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective, and serious side effects are very rare.  

Mishel previously revealed she'd started her porn career to support her children. 

'Being a single mum, I have never really had extra cash to do much with or to live an extravagant life, but I just don't want my children to have to struggle to pay bills or be in debt,' she told the Daily Telegraph.

'Whatever I must do so they can get a deposit or loan, so they can move forward, I will do that,' she added.

Mishel, who used to work as a policy trainer in the police force, recently became a grandmother after her son Sam welcomed a baby boy with his fiancée.

She's also a doting mum to daughter Eva, who featured on a few episodes of Married At First Sight and now works as a curve model in Brisbane.
