Martin Freeman has spoken about the realities of co-parenting with former partner Amanda Abbington, with whom he split after 16 years together in 2016.

The Sherlock star, 50, who shares son Joe, 16, and 14-year-old daughter Grace with the actress, said it 'hurt' when the children did things with their mother that did not involve him.

Speaking to the ahead of the new series of his comedy Breeders the actor revealed that being a parent taught him he was 'quick to anger'.
