Select a location. You need to determine where you want to put the fish tank. The place should not be near direct sunlight and should not be near the kitchen. The temperature should be fairly stable because frequent changes may not be good for saltwater fish.

The best place is the living room because there are not so many activities taking place and you can enjoy it anytime you want.

Buy a large aquarium. Check the place and make sure to buy the largest aquarium that can fit there. If your budget cannot accommodate a very large one, then buy the largest that your budget can afford. This is because larger aquariums are better for fish to thrive.

Setup a filtration system. Filtration systems are very important because the water in tank is not flowing.
You need to make sure to buy the right filtration system because the ones for fresh water are different from those for the saltwater fish. You should also change the water at least once a week especially if the tank you have is fairly small.

Adjust the flow of the water.

You can buy pumps that will allow the water to flow and not be stagnant. You must be careful though because the flow should neither be too fast or too slow. Too fast can kills the fish and their young ones while too slow may not be able to generate enough circulation to cover all areas.
Remember that a good pump is the key to the fish and the coral's growth.

Check for leaks. Before using the tank, you must first check for leaks. You can do this by filling up the tank with tap water and leaving it for a few minutes. Monitor the situation and check it carefully.

You can mark the aquarium if you like to make sure that the water level remains the same.

Check the salt concentration. Saltwater fish needs saltwater to live. However, the water should be in the same concentration as the sea itself. If you are not sure about how much sea salt you should put in the fish tank, you can ask the pet shop for instructions.
It is also important to remember that you need to allow the sea salt to completely dissolve before putting the anything there. The best thing that you can do is to leave the pumps turned on for a day.

Put live rocks, corals and other aquarium accessories.
